WELCOME MESSAGE
Welcome to new and returning students and families! Alexandra Public School, with 115 students and 5 classrooms, is a small community that supports the education, growth and development of the next generation. The four Royal Values that APS staff have high expectations for, are as follows: Be Kind, Be Humble, Work Hard, Be Brave.
A newsletter will be sent out at various points in the year, to provide an update and highlight upcoming key events and activities.
ASSEMBLIES
First week of the month, after the morning announcements the school gathers for an assembly. The purpose is to present the awards to two students in each class who have clearly demonstrated one of the Royal Values (Be Kind, Be Humble, Work Hard, Be Brave). Parents of the award recipients will be invited to the assembly.
HOT LUNCHES
Information on the hot lunches currently available has been sent out. In the near future, we will be conducting a poll to find the most desirable options for the school – stay tuned!
MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT
WEDNESDAY SEPT 21, 4:30 – 6PM
Join us at the school for an inside look at where your student spends their days!
Meet the APS teachers and gather for a small bbq in the yard (hot dogs, veggie dogs). Looking forward to seeing
everyone!
Donations for food and beverages are gratefully accepted.
PARENT COUNCIL
Our parent council group activity supports the school and its community through a variety of efforts; expanding the educational opportunities available such as field trips
and technology. Last year’s efforts enabled us to purchase the much loved ‘mud kitchen’ and numerous laptops. They are always looking for more members
of the community! The monthly meetings are planned for the last Wednesday evening 6:30 – 7:30pm of each month. Most will be virtual, although there will be three
in-person sessions held at the school to support collaboration: September 28, January 25 and April 26. Members can still attend these sessions virtually if preferred. Please contact Principal Leslie Wright to be included in the invitation.
REMINDER!
The Indigo Fundraiser runs September 12 – October 2. Donations can be made at the Coles in the Lindsay Mall or through our online fundraising page
