PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome back to school!  I hope everyone had a safe and restful holiday! January is going to start off our second term in a flurry.  We have lots of interesting things coming up for students to take part in.  On January 10th our Grade 4 students had a workshop with “Science in the Schools”, where they identified and experienced various pulleys and gears. The Afterschool Reading Program will begin the second week back (January 16th to 18th) for students who were selected to participate.   January 19th the Zone Volleyball tournament for the Junior Mixed Team will take place during the afternoon at the Queen Victoria gym.  On January 26th we hope to qualify for the County Volleyball Tournament which will take place at Ridgewood Public School in Coboconk.  Our Grade 3 students are starting the Swim to Survive program at the Lindsay Recreation Complex pool on January 18th.  They will continue for 2 more lessons January 25th and February 1 as well.  Mr. McGregor’s class will be going to Yearly for an overnight outdoor experience January 24th and 25th, so there are lots of interesting opportunities for our students this month!  We are also having a visit from Ms. Shelley Woon, our Superintendent, on January 30th so she can see all the wonderful learning our students are taking part in.  The staff would like to thank you for supporting your children’s learning at home as well as your volunteering here at Alexandra Public School.  We feel there are great things happening here!
